Q. How do I book an appointment?

A. Please call or text 07947 422079, leave your name, number and breed of dog, I will get back to you you back asap within 2 business days. You will be asked to complete a new client form and a non refundable £20 deposit which will be deducted from the price of your groom. This will secure your booking.

Q. Are you a mobile dog groomer?

A. Not any more, I'm based in Rudheath, Northwich and work from a small grooming pod in my garden. With the exception of nail clips. I will do a house call for nail clips, my call out charge is £20 and you will be asked to pay for this in advance.

Q. Do you offer different styles?

A. Yes I offer cut and style to suit your requirements from pedigree show cut to clip off to Asian Fusion teddy bear cut, handstrips and deshedding

Q. What are your qualifications?

A. I hold an OCN level 3 diploma in Dog Grooming from the Open College Network, certificates in Asian Fusion Grooming, a certificate in Reiki 2nd degree and a certificate in Cleany Teeth. I am also a full member of the Groomers Spotlight which only accepts fully qualified groomers please see my profile at www.thegroomersspotlight.com/allapawed

Q. Are you insured?

A. Yes fully insured

Q. My dog is nervous and hates being groomed, are you able to groom him/her

A. Yes depending on how nervous/aggressive your dog is, he/she may need longer time, a muzzle, a larger salon or sedation. I try not to use muzzles. Please advise when you book.

Q. What is your cancellation policy?

A. I appreciate that we all need to cancel sometimes due to unavoidable circumstances (myself included), however I do ask that 48 hours notice is provided, with the exception of sickness to you or your dog. If you do not provide notice, you will forfeit your deposit.

Q. My dog has sensitive skin, can you help?

A. Yes, please let me know when booking, I have a full range of shampoo that covers every breed and condition, it’s PH balanced, has only natural ingredients, hypo-allergenic, gentle formula, deep cleansing

Q. The groomers I’ve used in the past only need an hour, why do you need a minimum of two hours?

A. To do a quality groom, it takes a least an hour to bath dry and prep a dog before the magic can start, then depending on style of cut and the behaviour of the dog, it takes at least a further hour. If you're looking for a cheap and cheerful shave off within the hour, I'm not the groomer for you.

Q. Do you offer other services

A. Yes please look at the services page to see the full list

Q. My dog has fleas, can you treat them?

A. No, please do not bring an infested dog to me, I do not treat fleas or infestations, please speak to your vet and ensure the infestation is cleared completely before booking, if you bring your dog to be groomed that has an infestation, you will still be charged for the groom, however the groom will not be carried out. In addition to this, you will be charged for cancellation of grooms for the remainder of the day and a fumigation fee. This could run into hundreds of pounds. It will be much cheaper for you, to treat the infestation first 😊.

Q. My dog has never been groomed, can you help

A. Yes, please discuss with me, if your dog is a puppy, I offer a puppy university which gradually gets your dog used to being handled and builds confidence before a full groom. Please see the Services page.

Q. Do you clean anal glands

A. No, the regulations have changed, groomers should not be cleaning anal sacs/glands, please speak to your vet

Q. What if I don’t like the cut?

A. I welcome all feedback and I will work with you to achieve the cut and style that you desire. However please note this will incur another groom charge (I'm not rich enough to give my time away for free :))

Q. Do you offer late nights and weekends?

A. Yes, every Thursday evening until 9pm and Saturdays until 2pm

Q. My dog is heavily matted can you groom him/her?

A. Yes I can, however matted/pelted dog prices (a comb / comb guard will not go through the top and undercoat) requires a complete shave down under the Animal Welfare Act 2006. Prices start from £55 for a small sized dog under 10kg with no upper limit as it's time and blade dependent. I will only offer a shave down once per client and then I will refuse to groom as its too distressful for the dog and me. I will provide guidance on brushes required, a grooming schedule and how to brush. It is my job to provide your fur baby with a beautiful hair cut, it's your job to maintain that cut at home. :)

Q. My dog is aggressive and bites when being groomed

A. Some dogs just don’t like to be groomed, in these circumstances the dog will either require a muzzle (which still allows your dog to breath and is not uncomfortable) or a two groom appointment with a larger dog grooming salon, I cannot offer this but can recommend larger salons. As a final option, you can ask your vet to sedate your dog prior to grooming however most vets will also then groom your dog.

Q. How much do you charge?

A. Please see the Prices page, all prices are start from the price estimated, I will need to assess your dog when I see him/her prices vary depending on condition of coat, dogs temperament how long it takes me to groom the dog. As a rule of thumb, I charge £25 per hour.

Q. I have a large dog, can you groom him/her?

A. Sadly due to a shoulder injury I can no longer accept any dog over 20kg, this is usually a medium sized cockerpoo

Q. What has changed due to Coronavirus?

A, All grooms are by appointment only, no walk ins. Appointments are staggered so that you do not bump into other customers and to allow full cleaning to take place.  Only one dog/person can be on the premises at a time. Please be prompt on arrival and collection to avoid the risk of bumping into other customers.  If you display any C19 symptoms, please cancel your appointment, do not bring your dog or ask someone else to drop your dog off. If I display symptoms, I will temporarily close and you will be informed.

Q. Is there anything else I need to know?

A. Yes, to make the experience positive for everyone, please toilet your dog before arrival, arrive and collect on time, I do charge £5 for every 15 minutes late as this impacts on the next client and ultimately my finishing time. As a 1:1 lone groomer I pride myself in the quality of groom that I offer and can only keep to the prices quoted providing everyone is on time.
